In loving memory of a free spirit and kind soul, James Robert Sikora quietly passed away Thursday January 3, 2019 surrounded by family during the early morning sunrise.

James, fondly known as Jim, was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois on October 3, 1959.  As a young boy he grew up in the Chicago Heights area where he was involved with Boy Scouts and learned his love of the outdoors. Later, he moved to Houston where he learned to play the saxophone in the High School Band. In addition to his passion for music, Jim learned to play the harmonica, flute and guitar. Jim's free spirit led him to many travels in his adult life. He spent time in Austin, Texas; Rawlins, Wyoming; and for the past 16 years in the Grass Valley area of California. Jim was a master at construction, player of several musical instruments, and a talented writer. He truly loved his family and friends, and all shared that same love and compassion for him. He loved life, enjoyed traveling, hiking, swimming and visiting friends.

Jim joins his father Orwill Granger Sikora, his dog Poncho, and leaves behind his mother, Clare Frances Sikora, girlfriend, Kyra Bjornsson, brothers, Charles David, Donald Gene, Dale Wayne, sister, Jerilee Frances Sikora-Ortiz, brother-in-law Jerry, niece and nephew Julia and Jeremy Ortiz, and sister-in-law Jennifer Arey Sikora.
