James Robertson (Jimmy) Jenkins, 87, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on February 22nd. He was born November 29th, 1937, in Houston to the late Elford Peyton Jenkins and Mildred (Windt) Jenkins.

He is survived by his sister Judy Winship, his son, Dale (Kathy) Jenkins; his daughter, Kathy (Steve) Caton; his son, Mark (Lowenna) Jenkins; his son, Matthew (Joanne) Jenkins; his son, Shane (Kim) Jenkins; his step daughter Amber (Greg) Sattler; his step daughter, Angel (Trey) Barton; grandchildren, Kara (Aaron) Donny-Clark, Justin (Krista) Sweidel, Kyle Jenkins, Kade (Katie) Jenkins, Rick (Sherry) Urwin, Carter Jenkins, Cooper Jenkins, Morgan Jenkins, Courtney Webb, Trent Colson, Hayden Woollen, Curtis Seaberg; great-grandchildren, Kyra Jenkins, Charlie Sweidel,  Josiah Jenkins, June Jenkins, many step-great grandchildren and personal friends.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gail (Hoffpauir) Jenkins.

Jim had a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical church in Spring, TX. He enjoyed playing outdoors with sister Judy, and spent time most summers with his Grandparents, Rudolph and Clara Windt in Brenham, TX.

At 13 Jim worked at Mallott's Grocery store in Spring and later became a projectionist at a movie theater nearby.

In May of 1955 he graduated as President of his class, in July married Julie Ann Strack, and in August they moved to San Diego, CA where he joined the US Navy and proudly served for four years. After returning to Spring, Jim was active at Immanuel, became a charter member of the Lions Club, and also served on the Spring Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Jim and Julie built a close family with Dale, Kathy, Mark, and Matthew in Spring. From 1968 until 1975 they lived in a home, they built on Julie's family property in Klein. They blessed their children with a strong work ethic, and Jim, who will always be remembered for his many quotes, often said "anything worth doing, is worth doing right".

He worked as an electrician, a mechanic, and then Supervisor at Mission Manufacturing for over 20 years.

In 1979 Jim married Donna Hoffpauir and they moved to Angleton with Donna's children Amber, Angel, and Shane. Most summers they welcomed lots of family to Crystal Beach, where they spent a week on vacation each year.

Donna and Jim moved to Pray, Montanta, where they lived for 10 years, Jim working first at Chico Hot Springs, and then at the Railroad, planting a garden each Spring. In 2009 they moved to Alvin, TX and Jim enjoyed working with close friend David Gates and his son Cris, at Gates Machine Tools in Manvel. Donna passed away in 2010, and Jim retired from Gates in 2015.

In 2016 Jim moved to a cabin in Montgomery next to his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Kathy Jo, their kids and grandkids. He loved to be outside and enjoyed mowing, fishing, spending time with the family, and driving his golf cart around the property. Matthew and Joanne lived just over the hill, and he loved the view from his front porch where he spent many days watching the great grandkids play, while he held his faithful little chihuahua, Fancy. In his words, "I'm just sitting here counting my blessings. I'm surrounded by my kids, my grandkids and my great-grandkids. What more could I want?" Jim loved any family get-together and was happy to share many stories of the old days. He also enjoyed attending Heritage Baptist Church just down the road, and looked forward to their monthly church dinners where he could visit with friends and family.

Jim was extremely positive and always very content. He loved the Lord, made an impression on everyone he met, and was a wonderful Husband, Father, and friend to all.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, March 6th, from 5pm to 8pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 7th at 10am at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, with Brother Bruce Bear officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.

Serving as pallbearers are Dale Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Matthew Jenkins, Shane Jenkins, Justin Sweidel, and Kyle Jenkins.
