James (Jim)  Roscoe Larson was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Martin and Mabel Larson on December 18, 1927, and passed away in The Woodlands, Texas on November 27, 2023. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jeanette Larson, brother Robert (Anna Mae) Dermody and sister Virginia (Fritz) Grise.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Sally Henderson and husband  Steve; son, Steven Larson; and grandsons, Christopher Wallace and Eric John. Jim was blessed with bonus grandchildren Michele (John) Flint, Michael (Stacie) Henderson and Matthew Henderson and their families. Jim had a special relationship with his niece Sheila and her husband Bob Gamble of Racine and loved following the life events of his many great and great-great nephews and nieces.

Jim began his career in the military at a time when you could transition between the different divisions, after experiencing the Navy and Army he settled on a career with the Air Force retiring with the rank of TSG/Technical Sargent.   He was a lifelong Mason, an avid golfer, fisherman and roller bladed well into his 80's, and loved collecting stamps. After retiring from the Air Force, Jim worked for NASA, and was honored to have known and worked with the original astronauts tapping into his lifelong curiosity of space, aliens and the universe. After his tenure at NASA,  Jim took his knowledge of sport fishing and worked at Academy Sports for 20+ years, sharing his love of fishing and the secrets of how to catch trophy fish and sharks.  While at Academy Jim became the oldest field tester for Ultra Wheels roller blades, there was no better way to start the day than roller blading around the Academy parking lot in Lake Jackson, Tx.

Jim was a man strong in faith; a gentle man who loved animals and traveled through life with grace, kindness and optimism.  He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
