James "Jay" aka "JB" Bernard Jarman, Jr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, early Sunday April 3, 2022. While battling cancer for nearly three years, Jay maintained a positive attitude and strong love for his family & friends. Jay was born on August 15, 1960, to James Bernard Jarman Sr. and Elise Jarman in Houston, TX. He attended and graduated from Klein Senior High School where he excelled as an athlete playing Varsity Tennis, Football, & Track in 1978. He attended & graduated from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas University) in 1982 where he met and fell in love with Bonnie Stanley, whom he married in 1985. In thirty-seven years of marriage, they bore two children, Amanda Elizabeth (1990) and Joshua Bernard (1993), and welcomed twin grandchildren, Reagan Elizabeth and Charlotte Elaine (2020).

Jay was an incredibly creative and talented artist. In high school, Jay won an award from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for his artwork. After graduating from college and working several years in the design/advertising field, Jay bravely embodied his entrepreneurial spirit and founded Innova Design & Advertising where he served as Founder, President, and Creative Director for thirty-two years. Jay won countless awards for his designs and advertisement campaigns while leading Innova to over three decades of operation. His greatest joy however was applying his creative talent for his children. For example, while battling cancer he left his lasting legacy when he designed business logos for his son and daughter's companies founded in 2020 & 2021, respectively. He also designed artwork for his grandchildren's bedroom in 2020 and his daughter's wedding invitations in 2019 to name a few. Jay was a proud family man and a loving father and husband. He coached many of his children's sporting teams including baseball, football, and basketball. He never missed a game, coaching or not, or any other big life moment. Jay boasted a larger-than-life personality & was notorious for his unique sense of humor, persistently leaving a smile on all who met him. His wife Bonnie lovingly says, "God broke the mold when He made Jay". No one was quite like him and that is what made him so special to so many.

Jay will be greatly missed by all he left behind including his wife Bonnie Jarman; his daughter Amanda Austin and husband Travis Austin; son Joshua Jarman; mother Elise Jarman; sister Elizabeth Ramey and her husband Shon Ramey, as well as their daughter Quinn Ramey, sister Leslie Miller and husband David Miller, as well as their children Garrett and Claire Miller; grandchildren Reagan Austin, Charlotte Austin and soon-to-be James Austin; as well as, countless other family members and friends. There was so much more to our beloved Jay than could be captured here in this small passage. We sincerely hope that you had the opportunity to know and love him as we did.

Jay's memorial service will take place on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11AM at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston, TX. (11612 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77024) For those unable to attend, the memorial service will be live streamed
