It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our father, James "J.C." Calvin Holder, born in Moody, Texas on September 9, 1939, and passed away in The Woodlands, Texas on June 18, 2024.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He attended Sam Houston High School, started working at Holder Auto Parts with his father, then Comet Auto Parts, then retiring from Emery Worldwide with 22 years of service. James started church at Lindale Baptist Church and accepted Christ and was baptized in March of 1955 at 15 years old.  He was a member there until he moved his membership to Spring Baptist Church in late 1969.  He has been a member of Spring Baptist Church for approximately 55 years and rededicated his life in the late 1970's under the teachings of Dr. Harlan Caton.  Although he couldn't go to church physically anymore, he would watch Brother Mark Estep preach from the comfort of his home.

James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Holder; his daughters, Theresa Ousley and husband Rod, Darla Watkins and husband Tim, Delinda Turner and husband Jon; his grandchildren, Kassi Foster and husband Kyle, Wesley Ousley and wife Brandy, Tim Watkins, Jr. and wife Kristen, Darryl Ousley and wife Brandie, Jon Turner II and wife Cari, and Tyler Ousley and wife Fancy; his great-grandchildren, Brayden Shirley, Lexy Ousley, Braxton Ousley, Kasyn Ousley, Callyn Ousley, Kennedy Blincoe, Kaleigh Blincoe, Jaxyn Ousley, Kylie Foster, Kaleb Foster, Klein Watkins, Presley Watkins, Emma Turner, Analeigh Turner, Bryce Miles, and Blake Thomas; and his great-great-grandchild, Jayleigh Blincoe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie Leroy Holder and Hazel Lee Stephens Holder; grandchildren, James Calvin Turner and Chaynie Grayce Ousley; sisters, Jean Sibley, Connie Sibley, Glenda Farrar and brother, Ronnie Holder.

Visitation Service for James will begin at 10:00 am, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Spring Baptist Church, 633 E Louetta Rd, Spring, TX 77373. A procession to Klein Memorial Park Spring-Klein will immediately follow the funeral service.

The family would like to express much thanks to Pastor Mark Estep and Pastor Tim Barosh who will be officiating the Celebration of Life Service.  And Pastor Barry Klempnauer for officiating the Graveside Service.  The family would like to send a special thank you to his nurse, Stephanie.
