Reverend James Edwin Hazelton, 83, of Spring Texas passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024. James was born June 21, 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Estelle and Burt Hazelton. He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School. He worked in the Banking industry after high school while ministering on the weekends. He married the love of his life, Peggy Joyce Beck on March 3, 1961. They were in fulltime ministry for over 50 years. They pastored churches in Bryan, Dickinson, Clawson, Houston and Spring. They also traveled as Evangelists all over the Southern United States for over 20 years. Since his retirement he still ministered everywhere he went, in restaurants, grocery stores and anywhere else that he could talk to people, pointing them to Jesus. James was an avid hunter and an expert marksman. He enjoyed riding when he had his motor cycle. He was quite a craftsman, having built a car and travel trailer from the ground up. He had a brilliant mind and was a great storyteller.
James is survived by his loving wife, Peggy of 63 years, one month and 3 days; brother-in-law Royce Beck (Barbara), sister-in-law Elizabeth Beck, brother-in-law H.C. Juenke and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other special relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Estelle and father Bert, his Grandmother and Grandad Willtrout and his Grandmother and Grandad Hazelton.
