James Roy "J.R." Hand completed his final lap for the win on December 25, 2022.

J.R. was born on November 29,1948, In Niles, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents

Roy Donald Hand and Berta Elizabeth Hand; Sister Carol Hand Donaghe.

He is survived by his wife Sally DeWitt Hand, brother and sister-in-law Don and Sharon Hand.

He is also survived by numerous extended relatives and lifelong friends.
