Obituary

James (Jim) Forrest Kirsch was born July 4, 1969, in Wharton, Texas, to GW (Bill) and Cathie Kirsch, and sister Deborah (DebDeb) Kirsch. Jim left his earthly body on February 9, 2022, to return home to the Lord.

Jim grew up attending Tallowood Baptist while living in Ashford West. His family moved to Memorial Northwest in 1976 and attended Champions Forest Baptist Church. Jim graduated from Klein High School in 1987 and attended college. Once he saw that college was not his path he began a career at Discount Tire Company, where he met his wife Sheryl Terpstra Kirsch.

Jim and Sheryl were married in 1993 and have two daughters, Lauren and Jamie Kirsch. Jim was very proud of his girls. Lauren is a graduate of Baylor University, Texas Tech and attending Mississippi State University for her PhD. She is also engaged to be married in January 2023 to Parker Reine. Jamie is a junior at Klein Cain High School, where she is the school mascot.

Jim loved having fun. He would rearrange any schedule to ensure he and his family and friends enjoyed life, whether it be a concert, car show, hang out in the driveway or garage. You knew that if Jim was there, fun would be had. Jim would be the first one to help anyone out even if he already had plans. There were many times he would be late because someone needed a ride home or to be picked up and it didn't matter what side of town it was on.

Jim also suffered from demons that caused him to do selfish things as well. Once he completed rehab twice, at Summer Sky, because why do it once. He began to put his life, friends and family back on track. He was the first person to say when he was diagnosed with heart issues, "I probably contributed to it so I will do what I need to make it better." He started exercising and was talking to a trainer to help live his best life. Unfortunately, that was not the plan. He did pass peacefully and with a smirk on his face, so you know he is truly at home.

He is preceded in death by his son, Sean Kirsch and mom, Cathie Kirsch

Jim will be truly missed.

Memorial contributions can be made in Jim's name to Summer Sky Rehab or Rock & Roll Hall of Fame .
