James Edward DeSha, 81, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on January 21, 2023.  James was born on September 17, 1941, to Lillard and Beatrice DeSha in San Antonio, Texas.  After graduating from Northside High School, he attended the University of Texas.  This is where he became a life-long Longhorn fan.  After his time in college, he enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years.  While he worked in the Oil & Gas Industry, Aviation Industry and Retail Industry, his heart was in ranching.  He had a big love for animals and his 50-acre ranch.  James was preceded in death by his father, Lillard DeSha & mother, Beatrice DeSha.  He is survived by his daughter, Holly Calbat, her husband Rob Calbat of Houston, Texas, daughter, Anissa Alepa, her husband Mike Alepa of Liberty Hill, Texas and his 5 grandchildren: Kyle Calbat, Courtney Calbat, Jake Alepa, Carter Alepa and Hudson Alepa.  There will be a private family celebration to honor his life in February.   Any memorial contributions can be made to the Kerr County Livestock Show at www.hcdjls.org/memorial donations .
