James Alan Davis, 63, passed from this life on July 21, 2025, in his home in Katy, Texas. He was known by "James" to his co-workers and "Alan" by his family and others. Alan was born on April 30,1962 to Dr. Buster Hall (or B Hall) Davis and Juanita Dunsworth Davis in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the last of five children in the family.

Alan lived in several cities across the country. He was born in Baton Rouge and at the age of 4 years, he and his family moved to Zachary, Louisiana. In Zachary they had an egg farm (23,000 chickens) where they gathered eggs twice daily. Alan and his sister, Candace, were much younger than their siblings and would skate around the chicken house gathering eggs, until they found a way to escape and go off to play. At 8 years old, Alan's mother passed away from cancer. His father married Myra Belue, and they moved back to Baton Rouge. At 12 years old, they moved to Okeechobee, Florida. At 15 years old, they moved again to Raymond, Ohio and one year later they moved to Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Alan graduated from Bullitt Central High School in 1980.

After graduation, Alan joined the Air Force in 1980 with assignments at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas, Fairbanks Alaska and later to Caribou Maine. Alan left the Air Force with an Honorable Discharge as a Senior Airman after eight years of service.

Alan was a quiet person. No one can remember a time when he raised his voice in anger. He had a deep love for Bluegrass music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He had a special bond with his father through their performances in barbershop singing with The Thoroughbreds in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a loyal fan of the Florida Gators and the Houston Astros.

Alan loved the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel songs. His father taught him how to lead singing at an early age. The first song Alan led was "Standing on the Promises."

Alan is survived by his siblings, John Hall Davis and wife Jan, Steven Davis, Jennifer Pfister, and Candace Wise and husband Gerald. He is also survived by his stepbrother Ted Belue and wife Lavina, Diana Loyd and husband Mark. He has six nieces, two nephews, three great nieces and three great nephews. Alan also had his Christian family and friends.

Alan is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Dunsworth Davis, and Father, Buster Hall Davis, and stepmother Myra Belue Davis. After the passing of Myra, his father married Audrey Rimmer Davis who opened her heart to the Davis family.

The memorial service will be at Klein Funeral Home Cypress on August 22 at 10:00 am. There will be a visitation at 9:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 that afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Tunnels to Towers, an organization that helps homeless Vets and families of fallen first responders.
