James Willard Blount, 79, loving husband, father, grandfather and Christian passed away peacefully on September 16, 2016.  He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Edgar Blount, son Timothy Blount and wife Lynne Blount, daughter Jamie Blount Edwards and husband Patrick James Edwards, step-son Brian Radcliff and wife Jody Buckley Radcliff, step-daughter Staci Radcliff Hymel and husband Jonathan Hymel, sister Noreen Thompson and husband John, sister Ileen Ray, grandchildren Alexzandria Meaux, Taylor Blount, Paige Blount, Rees Radcliff, Case Radcliff, Elle Radcliff, Patrick James Edwards, Jr., Brandon Logan Weems and Tyler Weems.  He is preceded in death by his father, J.W. Blount and mother Lottie Blount. Born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 7, 1937, Jim played football for, and graduated from Tulane University.  He received his master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  He went on to a long career as a State Farm agent in Port Neches, Texas.  He enjoyed golfing with his friends and spending his early mornings reading his Bible and in prayer. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be sent to Magnolia's First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 296, Magnolia, TX 77353.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Sunday. Funeral services will be held 10am Monday, September 19,2016 at Magnolia's First Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Seay officiating.  Interment will be held 3pm Monday at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, TX with Full Masonic Rites
