It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James B. Miller, a brilliant man of great character and unwavering dedication. James, who always saw himself as a roadhand, has left behind a remarkable legacy of hard work, integrity, and an immense love for his family.
Born on July 8th, 1944, in Eastland Texas, James was a man who understood the true meaning of grit and never shied away from putting in the hours to get the job done. James approached every aspect of his life with a sense of purpose, determination and a strong work ethic.
On January 15, 2024, James B. Miller passed away in Katy, TX. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Miller, and his parents, Bascom and Eula Miller.
He is survived by his wife Elaine and his 3 children—Kim (Kevin) Atlanta, GA; James T. (Mary) Rhome, TX; Colleen (Mike) Anderson, TX.
He was known as Dupaw to his 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. James K., Krystal, Kyle, Kameron, Beaux, Leah, Eli, Emily, Kaylee, Lane, Paisley, Madilynn, Rome, Miller, Florence, Gibson and Scarlett each of whom were his pride and joy.
James B. was a Texan and a patriot through and through. He had a special place in his heart for history, reading, and West Texas. It is only fitting to close with his send off that he wrote on all correspondence -SINE DIE. (Sine die is a latin term for when a case has been adjourned indefinitely; signifying "time to go home."
