James Robert (Skipper) Arbaugh, 61, of Houston, passed away October 22, 2018. He was born December 27, 1956 to the late James Hampton and Mattalou McCoubrey Arbaugh. Jim was a lifelong resident of Houston, having been born in and growing up in the city, as well as attending school and working there. He was a loving, kind, modest son, brother and friend who always put his family first and rarely considered himself. He worked in sales for Anchor Marine & Industrial Supply Inc. for many years and enjoyed his colleagues and considered them his extended family. He was very knowledgeable about many subjects, including the marine supply industry, pleasure boating, guns, hunting and cars. Besides spending time with family and friends, Jim also loved collecting and sharing his finds with his brother, Matt, who has similar interests. His sense of humor was one of his very best qualities and one that we will truly miss.
He is survived by his mother, Mattalou, and brother, Matt Arbaugh and wife Michelle. Jim is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many friends, who all loved him very much.
Sweet Skipper, our hearts are breaking since you left us. But our pain will lessen because we know that you will be always be with us. And when we arrive in Heaven, all we will have to do is find the beautiful fellow wearing a Hawaiian shirt, beaming with a loving smile and inviting us with his open arms. We will see you again.
