James B. Abney's Obituary
James Abney was born on Sept. 15, 1923 in Montrose, Mississippi, served in World War II from 1942 - 1946 as a Sergent the South Pacific ending the occupation of the troups in Japan. He graduated from Ole Miss with a business degree. He met Anne on a blind date 2 weeks before Christmas in 1949 and took her home to meet the family on New Years. They were married on April 9, 1950 Easter Sunday and were married for 66 years. He worked as a landman for Pennzoil from 1948-1986. Often described as the true southern gentleman. He was a member of Klein United Methodist Church since its inception in 1976.
