Jacquie Jannette McCrosky, 68, of Magnolia, Texas, passed away on January 1, 2026, after courageously carrying the cross of a very rare neuromuscular disease for more than twenty years. She was born on June 17, 1957, in Galveston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nelda Swafford; her brother, Bobby; and her sister, Jennie. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Donald Gerard McCrosky; her children, Michael McCrosky and Christopher McCrosky (wife Linda); her grandchildren, Tristan and Madeline; and her sister, Joy Coleman (husband Bion) of Sweetwater, Texas.

Jacquie grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where her father, Joe, served in the United States Navy. Living near the water and beaches was a great joy to her, and she carried that love throughout her life. During her senior year of high school, her family moved to Rotan, Texas, following her father's retirement from the Navy. She graduated from Rotan High School and later attended San Angelo State University.

On January 14, 1978, Jacquie married Donald McCrosky. After knowing each other for just three months, they stepped into marriage, guided by faith and a deep sense that God had brought them together. While Donald completed his U.S. Air Force training, they lived in San Angelo, Texas, before eventually settling in Woodlawn, Louisiana, Donald's hometown, following his separation from the Air Force in 1981. It was there that Jacquie devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising their family.

Jacquie had a servant's heart and a deep love for the Lord. She found great joy in teaching catechism classes, nurturing young minds as they learned about Jesus and grew in their faith. She loved camping and traveling, both across the United States and abroad. Her favorite journeys took her to Kenya and Tanzania, where she experienced wildlife up close—especially elephants. Standing in their presence filled her with awe and emotion, and she openly wept with gratitude and wonder at God's creation.

Jacquie's radiant smile and warm, beaming personality were gifts to everyone she met. Even in her later years, as she used a wheelchair, those who encountered her quickly saw past any disability and instead experienced her remarkable ability to love, encourage, and uplift others. She worshiped the Lord joyfully and lifted praise to Him continually.

She found deep community and comfort at The Ark Church Magnolia, where she was surrounded by love and friendship. Sundays were a highlight of her week, as she eagerly anticipated worship, receiving the message, and greeting fellow church members as she entered and departed the service.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.

Instead of flowers, contributions in Jacquie's memory may be made to Houston Star of Hope Ministries.
