Jacques Louis Andre De Paep

Born March 13, 1952 in Brugge Belgium

Passed away February 10th, 2024 in Magnolia, TX.

For those who knew Jacques—or even briefly met him—it will undoubtedly be his vibrancy that is most remembered. He seemed to flutter with energy and a contagious passion for living life to the fullest. He absolutely loved learning the stories of others; always slow to speak and quick to listen. He possessed an uncanny gift of making you feel as if you were the only person in the room.

Growing up in the tiny country of Belgium, it's hard to fathom that he would later meet his wife, Louise, in Morocco and go on to live in countless countries around the world. While they would eventually settle in Houston, Texas… Jacques was a true renaissance man: fluent in eight languages, a gifted professional, a world traveler, a talented pilot, and a deeply compassionate man.

Jacques adored Louise and their son, JJ. His daughter-in-law, Erin, was the daughter they never had, and he loved her fiercely. While there was so much that defined Jacques, perhaps this more than anything was the ultimate passion of his life: family.

It is difficult to express the absence we feel with Jacques' passing. When someone lives so completely, it's hard to imagine they won't be around forever. It is, however, for this reason that we take great comfort… because he imparted everyone he ever encountered with the very essence of his life, and in that way, he will indeed continue forever.
