Jacquelyn Jane "Jackie" Ferrara, 86, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on October 24, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jackie lived a vibrant and full life marked by service, adventure, and deep connections with those around her.

Jackie proudly served her country in the United States Air Force from May 1962 through May 1966. As an Airman First Class and part of the distinguished "Flying WAF" (Women in the Air Force), she contributed to a pivotal era of military history with dedication and pride.

Following her military service, Jackie transitioned into a long and fulfilling career in the airline industry, working in reservations. Her love for travel was not only a professional pursuit but also a personal passion that took her on countless adventures around the world. Whether cruising across oceans or exploring new destinations, Jackie embraced every journey with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Jackie's zest for life extended far beyond her travels. She had a lifelong love of dancing, always capturing memories, taking pictures, playing games with friends and family, and staying active within her community.

A proud member of the Houston City Council Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Jackie found sisterhood and purpose among fellow members who shared her values of friendship and service. Her involvement reflected her generous heart and commitment to building meaningful relationships throughout her life.

Jackie was known for her quirky charm, kind nature, and genuine warmth. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen and valued—a friend to all who crossed her path. Even in her later years, she remained active and engaged, never losing the qualities that made her so beloved.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: nieces Gwen Ferrara Wallace, Jackie Ferrara, and Patsy Ferrara; nephew Danny Ferrara and his wife Jordy; great-nieces Kathleen Miller and husband Kevin; Hauna Rusk; Asia Rodriguez; great-nephews Chris Tschirgi and Russell Ferrara; and great-great-niece Dannie Postell. Jackie also leaves behind many cherished friends whom she loved like family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Adolph and Jane Ferrara; her cherished brother, Russell G. Ferrara; and his wife, Barbara.

Jackie's legacy is one of love, laughter, loyalty, and light-hearted joy. She was truly one of a kind—her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 23, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 04:30 PM at Klein Funeral Home 9719 Wortham Blvd.
