Jacqueline (Jackie) Strathman, 74, died on November 26, 2019, following a long series of health challenges and complications. She was surrounded by her husband of 47 years, Michael (Mike), and their loving family.
Jackie was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on November 13, 1945, and received a degree from Tiffin University. Jackie and Mike married in Findlay, Ohio, on April 21, 1972. She worked at Marathon Oil and American Hospital Supply Corporation and then stayed home to raise her three children. In addition to Findlay, Ohio, Jackie and Mike and lived in Chicago, Washington DC, and London, England, before settling in the Houston area in 1989.
She was always an active contributor in her community. At St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Spring, Texas, she was key in helping expand the Christmas Angel program to help families in need with dignity and kindness. Jackie wanted to help every person she ever met. When her health problems limited her ability to help physically, she turned to prayer and helped people with spiritual support.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Mike, and their three wonderful children: Michelle (married to Tony Hernandez); Michael (married to Melissa Cisneros); and Anthony (Tony). They and their families returned her love with kindness and support. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Mia, Nina, Sofia, and Michael.
Jackie has four surviving siblings: Dennis (Denny) Dantuono (married to Sandy), Doug Dantuono (married to Marilyn), both of Findlay, Ohio; Anthony (Tony) Dantuono II (married to Lynn) of Lewis Center, Ohio; and Michelle Dantuono of Tiffin, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her sister, Connie Dantuono, and her parents, Anthony (Tony) and Evelyn Dantuono.
Visitation will be held December 3 at Klein Funeral Home on Champion Forest Drive in Spring, Texas, from 5 – 8 PM. A rosary will be recited at 7PM.
A funeral mass will be celebrated December 4 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church on Cypresswood Drive in Spring, Texas. A luncheon reception will follow in McGivney Hall, adjacent to the church. Interment will be at Klein Memorial Cemetery on F.M. 2920 in Tomball, Texas, following the reception.
Memorials may be made to the Christmas Angel Ministry at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
