Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Jennie Cardaro Simcak, 91 years old, entered eternal rest on July 8, 2023. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jackie was born on December 29, 1931, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Peter and Anna Cardaro, Sr.. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Ann, Deborah Marie, Christine Ruth and her husband John; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

Jackie was a very devout Christian all her life. This started at First English Lutheran Church in New Orleans, Louisiana where she was baptized as an infant. Her mom and siblings walked to church weekly over the railroad tracks. She continued as an active member at First English where she met the love of her life, Andrew Simcak, Jr., who was doing his vicarage at her church. They were married on June 5, 1955. Marrying a minister gave her an opportunity to be active at many churches throughout her life.

Jackie was kind, compassionate, caring, and a little feisty with LOTS of love. She was very devoted to her husband. Whatever she was doing would stop, once she saw him pull up in the driveway after work. She made sure dinner was ready and probably would have pulled his shoes off if he would have let her. In addition to being a wonderful wife, she was a very loving mother to her four children. She spent many years pouring all of her love into them, instilling in them a strong love for God.

As the family grew, Jackie continued to pour all of her love into her grandchildren. She loved to host Sunday dinners (nobody made a better sloppy joe or red beans and rice than her!) She was happiest when she was surrounded by family. When the great-grandchildren started coming along, she always had some ice cream, cookies, coloring books, chalk and bouncy balls waiting at her house for them. There is no doubt that she was very loved by them all and had an impact on all of their lives.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Simcak, Jr., of 63 years and her son, Timothy Andrew, along with her father, mother, two brothers and sister.

This beautiful soul will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.

Internment will be at Klein Memorial Park, 32539 State Highway 249, Pinehurst, Texas  77362

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or School.
