Jacob V. Mammen (Shaji)
May 20, 1961 - Aug 23, 2022
Jacob V. Mammen (Shaji), House of Valliaveettil, based out of Houston, Texas; passed away on Aug 23rd 2022 at the age of 61; of cardiac arrest. It comes as a profound shock, considering other than Diabetes, which he has controlled for years; he was in good health.
Married to Jessey Jacob from Kaleekal Thekethil family in Chengannur since 1989; they have raised 2 children: Jebin Mammen Jacob and Jenney Grace Jacob.
Born in India, he did his schooling in Corley High School and B.Com from Chennai, India. Having worked at MRF in his initial years, he moved to Kuwait in the early 1990's and then migrated to the US in 2007.
He is preceded in death by his parents – V. Mammen Jacob & Gracy Mammen.
Apart from Jessey, Jenney, Jebin & wife Tricia; he is survived by his mother, Joyamma Mammen, his younger brothers Samuel Mammen (Shibu) Cissy, Sharun & Sohan and Matthew Mammen (Shoji), Beena, Asher & Gavin.
He is also survived by Jessey's sisters and family - Rev. Joseph & Betsi Peter and Karimpil (Monci) & Susan Jacob.
Eighth in line of 24 first cousins, he was the life and soul of any celebration, function or get-togethers. His love for music made him a one man band; his repertoire and ability to sing, tell stories and jokes made him the minstrel one would want anywhere, all the time.
A gentle soul; he doted on his family, relatives and friends. The absolute communicator: he would call one and all to stay in touch. Just to hear his jokes and stories would lift one's spirits however low it may be. A contented man with his life and lifestyle; he worked with his strengths and limitations doing what he could to make others lives easier.
Jacob had the perfect demeanor, which enlivens up the gloomiest of faces and homes. He will be missed sorely, for he had personality to make you feel, you were one he had known forever.
Gone too soon – only the Blessed Trinity knows why he was needed on the other side more!
