Jackolyn Marie Lesan Johnson was born in Guion, Arkansas on September 23, 1933. Jackolyn, fondly known as "Jackie" was called home to her heavenly reward on January 19, 2021 in Spring, Texas.
Jackie graduated Valedictorian from Guion High School and continued her studies at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1954. Jackie married her best friend and the love of her life, William T. "Bill" Johnson, Jr. on July 6, 1956, and moved to Houston, Texas to begin their life together. Throughout their precious years, they cherished the time spent with family and enjoyed traveling in their RV as members of Astrobago RV Chapter & Texas W Club. They celebrating 46 wonderful years of marriage before Bill's passing in 2002.
Jackie had a fulfilling 42 year career as a Registered Nurse at Texas Children's Hospital and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in the Houston Medical Center, and went on to serve as an Assistant Director of Nursing at St. Luke's. As Jackie would often say, "I raised many great doctors as they came through their Resident Programs and began their practice." Jackie used her many gifts and talents to serve others, whether it was in her role as a nurse or as a volunteer through her church.
Jackie was a faithful member of Bammel Church of Christ and found such joy in serving her church family through Prime Timers, Hospital Visitation, Card Ministry, making and delivering gift bags, hosting youth groups in her home, sewing costumes for Vacation Bible School, teaching Bible School and leading GriefShare, just to name a few. She touched the lives of so many people throughout her servant life – patients, hospital staff, church family, residents of nursing homes, young people and children, people she would just start a conversation with at the store, and her family.
She had a beautiful servant's heart and faithfully, selflessly, and humbly served her God by serving and loving others. She loved God with all her heart, soul, and mind, and wanted to bless people with the overflow of that love. She was happiest when she was sharing the love of God as she served and helped others.
Jackie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Billy and Barbara Johnson, daughters and sons-in-law Lesa and Eddie Mihalov, Pam and Rick Thaler, and Cathy and Brian Sosebee; Grandchildren – Karen and husband Chris, Travis and wife Cheyenne, Joey, Jennifer and husband Josh, Matthew, Shelbie and husband Jason, Kelsie and husband Conrad, Brady and wife Jessica, and Bailey; Great-grandchildren – Scarlett, Andrew and Baby Zachary arriving in March; Sister-in-law Nell Lesan and five nephews.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." Jackie will be missed by many and will forever live on in our hearts.
