Jackie Howard Brooks was born near the Red River in Nocona, Tx to Walter Scott and Margaret Ruth Brooks on August 17, 1932.  He came from a large family that loved and taught him to love.  He had a heart for everyone he met.  After graduating from High School in Alice, Tx he enlisted in the Air Force for four years and was stationed in Germany.  After getting out of the Air Force Jack attended MidWestern University in Wichita Falls, Tx graduating with a BS in Geology.

On May 30th, 1957, Jack married the love of his life, Nancy Hankinson.  Jack and Nancy were blessed with 60 years of marriage and three daughters – Kim, Carrie and Cathy and 2 son-in-law's Marcel Kron and David Alston.   Jack was later blessed with 3 grandchildren – Amanda, Evan and Hunter. His granddaughters further blessed Jack when Amanda married Jake Jarzombek which brought into this world a great granddaughter Jolene.  Evan married Tyler Quinn and they are expecting a great grandson to be born this April.   Jack's strong Christian beliefs guided this family to be faithful followers of Jesus.

Jack called many places home including Little Rock Ark, Hooks Tx, Seoul Korea, San Antonio Tx, Corpus Christi and Houston Tx.  He was a man that believed in community service and contributed every chance he got.  Many of his services included being Mayor of Hooks Tx,  youth supervisor at First Baptist Church of Hooks, building committee member of Seoul International Baptist Church, board member of the West Creek HOA and a board member of 2 MUD boards in Houston, Tx for 17 years.

On February 12th 2018 he went to be with his Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17th, at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd Houston, Texas 77065.
