Jack Merrill Scott, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 25, 2023 after a long and valiant battle with Alzheimers. Jack was born in Dallas, Texas on May 27, 1940 to Mary Louise and Clifton Lee Scott. He graduated in 1958 from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas where he played both baseball and basketball. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and upon completion of his military service graduated from Texas Tech University.

Jack began his career in Dallas with Standard Fruit and Steamship Co. His life changed forever on a trip to Houston to visit his sister Linda. She arranged a blind date for him with a friend of hers, Pam Cardone. After traveling on weekends from Dallas to visit Pam, he transferred to Houston and the rest is history. They were happily married for 55 years spending their life together in Cypress, Texas raising their 2 daughters. Jack later became the regional director for Dole for most of his career. He was elected to serve on the initial board of directors of the local Municipal Utility District, having been the longest serving board member and actively involved as president for many years.

Once retired, Jack devoted himself to the activities he most enjoyed, golf and animals! He was an avid golfer who had 7 holes in one and would play with anyone, anywhere and in any kind of weather. As he got older and was no longer a scratch golfer, his bragging rights became "I beat the flat bellies!" His golfing buddies were great friends and when meeting his daughters, they would often joke "So you're the one I helped put through college." Jack's love for animals was unsurpassed. He would pick up any stray dog he passed roaming the streets, feed squirrels, ducks, birds or any other living creature that needed help.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Lou and C.L. Scott and his beloved grandparents.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Pam Scott, daughter Shelly Graves (husband Dean), daughter Allison Lineberry (husband Joe ), grandchildren, Jack & Kate Graves all of Cypress, Texas, sister Linda Dussair of Katy, Texas, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and his beloved 4-legged Daisy, Freddy, Gracie and BW.
