On May 10th Jack Maurice Perry went to be with the Lord and his wife of 69 years. Jack was born to Bolden and Sally Perry who had a total of 7 children. Jack was the youngest of 5 boys and 2 girls. Jack grew up with his siblings in Palestine, TX. In high school, Jack played on the football team.
Upon graduating high school, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy from 1942-1946. He worked as a medic while serving in World War II. Jack earned a bronze medal and a Purple Heart for his valiant efforts in the Battle of Iwo Jima. After his service in the Navy, he met and fell in love with Jean Calloway and they married on June 25, 1946.
Jack & Jean settled in Houston, TX, where Jack worked for Shell Oil for 40 years. They had a daughter Sharon Elizabeth, whom they loved dearly. After retirement Jack & Jean moved to Tomball to be closer to their daughter and grandsons Ronald & Russell Brown.
Jack & Jean had a very close knit family. They were always surrounded by their daughter Sharon, grandson Ronald and his wife Angela and great-grandsons Jack (his namesake) & Joshua, and grandson Russell. We were blessed to have had Jack for 94 years. He was certainly a gentle soul and loved by everyone around him.
