Jack Almeron Amerman Jr.'s Obituary
Jack A. Amerman, Jr, age 73, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016.
Jack was a fifth generation Houstonian born to Gloria Robinson Amerman and Jack A. Amerman, Sr, on August 30, 1942 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, TX.
In keeping with family tradition, Jack was a Son of the Republic of Texas.
Jack was a graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston, TX. He maintained lifelong friendships with his classmates and frequently attended the Class of 1960 high school reunions.
Jack went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
Later in life, Jack founded the Amerman Equipment Company where he sold mud pumps worldwide. The Amerman name was renown industry-wide.
An avid golfer, Jack was a long time member of Ravenaux Country Club.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50-years, Sheila Fleming Amerman. He is also survived by his three daughters: Courtney Amerman McCarley; Brandy Amerman Lahiere and her husband Bobby Lahiere; and Heather Amerman Johnson and her husband Ryan Johnson. Jack celebrated his life with his seven beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 18, at 2 PM at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jack's name be made to the American Cancer Society.
