Ivy Clayton Dupree Jr, 83, left to be with his Lord and Savior on February 27, 2019. His devotion to, and love of, his family is only rivaled by his firm belief in God and his desire to share his faith with others.

Clayton was born to the late Ivy Clayton Sr and Helen Dodd Dupree, on March 31, 1935 in Shreveport, LA. He grew up in Shreveport and attended Louisiana State University, where he received his degree in accounting and met his late wife, Lena Faye Dupree. He graduated from LSU in 1959 and then served in the Army for two years, leaving the military as a Captain. After leaving the military Clayton got a job in the oil and gas industry as an accountant and moved to Houston, Texas.

Clayton and Faye chose to adopt two children, Donald Edward Dupree in 1965 & Sarah Lynn Dupree in 1967. They raised these two children as their own and taught them to love the Lord and serve His kingdom here on earth. In 1972, the family moved to the Prestonwood neighborhood where Clayton resided until his passing. Getting familiar with this new area of town, they joined Northwest Memorial Baptist Church where Clayton served as a deacon for many years and was involved with the senior adult ministry. He was also a long-time member of the Lions club and enjoyed volunteering at concession stands and many other projects with his Lion brothers.

Clayton is survived by son Donald and his wife Marsha; daughter Sarah; granddaughter Kendra Hallmark and her husband J.T. Hallmark; grandson Miller Walker; great grandchildren, Samantha, Sarina, and John; sister Virginia Joyner; brother-in-love John Hearn and His Wife Sue Hearn and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death and will be welcomed home by his wife Lena Faye Dupree; his sister Louise Deloache and her husband Frank Deloache, brother-in-love Hubert Joyner sister-in-love Nellie Tew Hearn, brother-in-love Robert Howell Hearn, and as well as both parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 8th, from 6-9pm at Klein Funeral Home 1400 W Main St, Tomball, TX 77375. A graveside service will be held for close family and friends on Saturday March 9th at 10am at Klein Cemetery 14711 Farm to Market Rd 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354 after which all are welcome to attend a memorial service at 1pm at Houston Northwest Church 19911 TX-249, Houston, TX 77070. Pastor Darren Carver will officiate the service.
