Israel Machuca was a friend to everyone he met and was known to be a hard worker and provider.  A beloved husband to Marcella; Israel and Marcella met while working together and continued to work together most of their married lives.  He loved to cook for his family, especially pancakes for the grandkids. Israel was a man of great faith in our Lord and he leaves behind his legacy of love and respect for everyone….especially his family and friends.  For all the love he gave out, it was received right back.  It was evident in his smile and by the sound of his infectious laughter.

Israel loved all things big and small.  He loved his dogs, Vickie and Lunie and also Pepe' (who preceded him in death).  When at home they were always close by.  When at work his boss' dogs Lady and Molly were never far from him.  He had a way with animals and nature. Israel loved working in the yard among his flowers and plants.  He loved to see them blossom and he took much pride in his yard.

Israel worked the past 30+ years for a gentleman named Larry Martin.  They were more than boss and worker, they were friends! Israel was always there to lend a hand and Larry was there for Israel also.  If Larry needed any of his properties landscaped he always called on Israel because he knew the job would be done right.  You could always tell that Israel was close by because the plants flourished from his care and love.

Israel was a great husband, father, brother, and friend and will be remembered by all that knew him.  He had a wonderful smile and a kind and gentle voice.  He was always eager to please and if you ever needed him he would be there.  Israel was a true friend.  We will miss Israel, but he is doing an important job in Heaven now.

Even when grandpa was sick he was thinking of me. He didn't want me to go to school without eating, so he would make me a soup every morning.  He asked grandma every day if I went to school.  Grandpa wanted to be sure I was taken care of.

I'll miss laughing with grandpa; it wasn't really at anything or about anyone. One of us would laugh and the other would laugh more, before you knew it grandma would yell from the kitchen, "Stop laughing at me!"  And then it got hilarious.

I remember smelling breakfast around 7 in the morning on weekends when we would visit. We knew grandpa was making pancakes. Sometimes we would fall back to sleep and wake up about noon.  When we would roll out of bed grandpa would greet us with a "Good Morning".  It was his way of saying you know it is not morning.

Dill

I remember going outside at grandma and grandpa's house to play on the swing set when I was little. Grandpa would sit and watch me play.  He would call me Dillard!  Just like that with the emphasis on Dillard!
