Dewey Adkison Jr. was born in Center Texas to Dewey Adkison Sr and Edna Ingram Adkison in 1943. He is the youngest of the seven children. He married his wife, Mary and shared 58 years of marriage. They had three children; Susan Lottig, Karen Southworth, and Steven Adkison. The eleven grandchildren; Danny Jackson, Blake Jackson, Wesley Frazier, Alexis Lottig, Bradley Frazier, Samantha Adkison, Allison Lottig, Meagen Adkison, Payten Adkison, and Shane Southworth and Scarlett Snell and eleven great grandchildren; Kalen Jackson, Daxx Jackson, Kaden Snell, Parker Frazier, Luke Frazier, Paisley Brdecka, Michael Sandifer, Grady Snell, Stratton Southworth, James Frazier, Lincoln Sandifer.

As a business entrepreneur, he believed in working hard and building. From the Kroger Grocery Store, to Doyle's Ace Hardware, to Adkison Ready-Mix Concrete, to S.T.A.R. Concrete Pumping Co., to all various Center Ventures. He loved to dream big and live large while having fun with family and close friends. He traveled, hunted, played golf, and had a true passion for the 1957 automotive Chevrolet classics. His generosity, compassion, and strong business mind earned him the respect in his business industry. A strong community leader and family man with a legacy that will live on.
