Irene Facundo was called to her heavenly home May 17, 2023, in Houston, Texas. Irene was born April 17, 1936 in Falcon, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zenon and Guadalupe, her siblings, Maria Martinez, Celestino Cadena, Servando Cadena and Juan Jose Cadena, and her granddaughter, Amanda Duque.

Irene grew up in Falcon, Texas, and met the love of her life, Santiago Facundo, in Laredo, Texas.  They were married for 62 years. There, they had their three children, Santiago Facundo Jr., Marla Chavez and Marissa Duque.  Although Irene did not pursue a professional career outside the home, she exemplified the incredible importance and impact of a dedicated mother. Her greatest joy came from being a nurturing mother and providing her children with a warm and loving home. She chose to dedicate her life to raising her family, ensuring they had every opportunity to grow, thrive, and explore the world. That same unconditional love was given to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Irene's love and devotion extended beyond her immediate family. She was always lending a helping hand to those in need. Her warmth, compassion, and willingness to assist others created an everlasting impact on those around her. Irene's genuine care for others was evident in the countless friendships she had throughout her life.
