It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Idalia "Nena" Garza-Sexton, a beloved wife/sister/friend, talented artist, and founder of NCF Studios, who passed away on July 28, 2025.

Nena was born in Nava, Coahuila Mexico and moved to Houston to study interior design at the University of Houston. She spent many years in accounting but found her true passion as a successful business owner that helped teach and develop many other talented artist around the USA. She was a gifted artist whose work in decorative finishes transformed countless spaces, bringing beauty, warmth, and character to homes and businesses alike. As the founder of NCF Studios, she dedicated herself to perfecting her craft, ensuring that every project she touched was a reflection of her creativity and meticulous attention to detail. Her talent, combined with her passion for her work, made her a respected figure in the decorative painting industry. Nena was published in many Houston design magazines, was a member of the local Houston IDAL chapter and taught many students in her successful art studio.

Beyond her skill, Nena was known for her radiant personality and her unforgettable smile, which brightened every room she entered. Whether on the job or with family and friends, her infectious positivity and warm spirit left an impression on all who knew her. Even through the hardest days of her illness, her bright smile never faded, and it was a testament to the strength, grace, and joy she brought to everyone around her.

Nena is survived by her husband Stephen Sexton, her brother Juan Garza, her sister Lourdes Garza and her mother Idalia Garza-Garza who were her greatest source of love and support.
