Obituary

Ida Estelle Schraeder was born January 24, 1925 in Jasper, TX to Della Minyard and Ellison Davis.

She graduated to her heavenly home on March 7, 2021. She was ready and anxious to get there.  She was 96 years old.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, Jack Edward Schraeder.
Ida was raised in the country and after she graduated from high school she took a job waiting tables in a little cafe in Diboll.  A certain young man driving a mail truck from Houston to Dallas would stop on his way and have lunch.  And, like they say "The rest is history".  They married on March 13, 1943.  They had 2 children, a daughter, Jackie and a son, Mike.

They had a wonderful active life together and enjoyed it to the limits.  Ida went to Beauty College and later on had her own shop.  Years later she would help her husband start their own business, which is still family owned.

Ida was a wonderful mother to 2, Grandma to 6, Great  Grandma to 11 and Great Great Grandma to 3.

Her daughter Jackie and husband Charles live in Alvin, TX and have 4 children, Edith, Michelle, Kimberly and Charles.  Edith and Jimmy have 2 children, Bobby and Shelby.  Michelle has 2 sons, Wayne and Charles.  Charles Jr  and Dancee have 2 sons, Blake and Dylan.

Her son Mike and wife Debbie live in Tomball and have 2 children, Shelsea and Mike Jr.  Shelsea and Rodney have 3 daughters, Chloe, Georgia and Haddie.  Mike Jr and Stephanie have 2 sons, Jax and Cole.

Grandma had lived in assisted living care for the last 6 years.  All 5 of her son's grandchildren have been so blessed to be an active part of her life.  When Covid hit and there was no visitors allowed, we would participate in drive by parades where residents sat outside and we would decorate our cars and posters and balloons and drive by and honk and wave.  We would tie helium balloons to the tree outside her window and talk to her through the window.  She loved it.

Ida loved her family fiercely and we loved her right back.

Ida was blessed with so many friends along the way.  She loved a big gathering with lots of people.

She was a member of First Baptist Tomball.  She knew the Lord and she is His!
