Humberto V. Rodriguez aka Bert (67) a cherished member of the Tomball, Texas community, passed away prematurely on Friday, July 26, 2024. Born on July 20, 1957, in Spokane, Washington. He fondly recalled his early years (1963) spent in Healdsburg, CA, growing up as a kid at Jones Ranch on Westside Road. The family relocated to Harlingen in 1973, where he spent his teenage years and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1976. Bert took pride in his first job in the produce department at HEB, while also attending TSTC in Harlingen. In the mid-1990s, he relocated to the Houston area, yet he always referred to the "Valley" as "Home." He was known for his loving, caring nature and his constant concern for others. Those that knew Bert, knew that he would give his shirt off his back for others Throughout the years, his faith in our Lord and Savior never wavered, and he consistently maintained a positive outlook regardless of the circumstances. Being a member and an employee of the First Baptist Church Tomball, he always had a servant's heart.
Bert is preceded death by his parents, Odon Rodriguez and Teresa Villarreal.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Rodriguez of Harlingen, his life partner, Cherrie Winders of Tomball; his brothers and sisters, Blanca Davis (Jack) , Norma Thonen (Patrick) , Patsy Manard (Paige) , Javier Rodriguez (Gayle); nephews and nieces, Shaun Davis (Marisol), Hunter Thonen (Chelsie) , Leanna Manard (Jorge) ; his grandnieces, Aliyiah Gonzales (Nathan) and Shauna Davis; grandnephew, Darren Davis; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all whom he loved and cared for; and without any doubt his "Kitty"cat will miss HIM dearly!
The family would like to thank his dear friends, Joe Whisenant, Gary Brewer, Jon Brewer, Luis Acevedo for the impact they made on his life. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Pastor James Clark and Pastor Steve Byrd and the entire staff at First Baptist Church Tomball for their kindness and generosity in helping our brother, Bert, during his time of need. A special thanks also to HCA Houston Tomball: the ER Department including his doctors and staff for the care rendered. Thank you to Heather and McKenzie including the Emergency Medical Services.
