Obituary

Hoyt Huland Tolleson, 103, of Tomball, TX passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025 in his home.

He was born on August 20, 1922, in Bivins, Texas, the fourth child of Delbert and Texanna Tolleson. He grew up alongside his siblings Modena, Nora Delbert, Troy, and his younger brother Miles Gordon.

Hoyt married Ruth Holland Tolleson on June 13, 1942 shortly before being drafted into the Army to serve his country in World War II. After his service, he returned to Atlanta, TX where he and Ruth began their life together raising two children, Kim Huland Tolleson and Sammye Gayle (Tolleson) Underwood.

The family later moved to the Klein community and eventually to Tomball, where Hoyt built a long and dedicated career with Goodyear as Superintendent at the blimp base in Spring, Texas, faithfully serving until his retirement. The sight of the blimp overhead brought joy to many in the community, and Hoyt cherished his years working there.

Hoyt's life was centered on family. He was the proud grandfather of Morgan (Tolleson) Fanning, Jennifer Valk, and Glynn (Tolleson) Johnson, and the beloved great-grandfather of Hawkins, Griffin, and Fisher Fanning, Zoe Rivers, Ezekiel Fahy and Ruth Johnson.

After the passing of his wife Ruth in 1991, Hoyt shared a loving, long-term relationship with Jeanne Cole. As "Papa Hoyt" and "Nana", they treasured time and the love of many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating many happy memories together until his passing.

Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his daughter-in-law, Brenda Tolleson (2009). He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family who will carry on his memory with love.

Hoyt's long life was marked by dedication, love, humor, and faith. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to others and the legacy he leaves behind in his family.
