Obituary

Howard LeGrande Park, 81 years old passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday January 9,2017. He is survived by his loving wife Wolsun, his children and his grandchildren.  Howard grew up on farms in the Orem, Utah area. He was a "salt of the earth" type of man. He never had much but would give you the shirt of his back. He enlisted in the Army in 1953 at the age of 17.  He reNred from the Army in 1976. In his service to our country he volunteered and served two tours in Vietnam with MACV. During his service in Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star, Joint Service CommendaNon Medal, 2 Army CommendaNon Medals, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars.  Howard enjoyed spending Nme with his military buddies in the Dallas area where he spent much of his life aXer the Army. In his later years, Howard was confined to a wheel chair and was rated as 100% disabled through the VA and moved to the Houston area with his wife Wolsun to be closer to family.  Although being in a wheel chair, he loved spending Nme with his family especially his grandchildren.  Sergeant First Class Howard Park stayed a soldier to the end. He was a devout ChrisNan, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and a true American Patriot.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17 (11:45 am) at the Free Will BapNst Church (12251 Northpointe Blvd, Tomball, TX 77377). Following the services, the burial will be at 1:30 pm at the Houston NaNonal Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038).
