Hermine "Minnie" Melcher, 1925-2016, was called Home by her Lord and Savior on September 29, 2016, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig, and daughter, Carol Melcher.
Minnie was born on May 22, 1925, in Giddings, Texas, to Henry Bamsch and Ernestine Bamsch. She married Ludwig W. Melcher and they made their home together in Houston, Texas, where they raised a loving family of four children, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Minnie worked for many years at both the St. Mark's Lutheran School and, later, the Spring Branch school district.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Melcher and daughter-in-law Janice Melcher; daughter, Joan Bone and son-in law Jack Bone; son, Jerry Melcher and daughter-in-law Janice Melcher; and son-in-law Paul Miller; as well as her grandchildren, their spouses and children, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Minnie was a blessing to everyone she met and her kind heart, faith in God, and love for her family and friends will continue to be an inspiration to the many people who loved her.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 2, at Klein Funeral Home – CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 3, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 14423 West Road, Houston, TX 77041. A private interment will take place at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, Houston.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
