Herb passed away on January 29, 2021. He was born on April 12, 1937 to Harry and Rose Oberman in Chicago, Ill. He attended Illinois Wesleyan and then drafted into the Army Reserves during the Korean War. For a short time after he played in the Minor League for the St Louis Cardinals as a pitcher.
After that he joined Brown Shoe Company and at one time was Salesman of the Year. He went on to design and sell for different manufacturers, retiring at the age of seventy-two.
Herb enjoyed baseball, bowling, but most of all playing golf. He traveled to many countries with Dianne but enjoyed the sun and relaxation of the Bahamas the most.
Herb is survived by his loving wife, Dianne of 53 years. He is also survived by Craig Oberman, Michelle Jones, Denise Huber and son-in-law Chad Huber, Sharon Frendling and son-in-law Robert Friendling. His grandchildren Brett, Trent, Blake, Rachel, Michael, Laura, Alex and Jacob. He had one great granddaughter, Paige. His children and grandchildren were the best part of him he was known to say many times. Herb is also survived by his sister Roberta and husband Jay, sister-in-law Vernette and many nieces and nephews.
