HENRY GEORGE PIPTA of Montgomery, TX passed away on May 10, 2021. He is preceded in death by wife Elaine McCarthy Pipta; father Michael J. Pipta; mother Julia Pipta; brother Charles Pipta. He is survived by daughter Carla Jones and husband T.J.; son Michael W. Pipta; grandchildren Kelsey and Jonathan Crouch; great-grandchildren Urijah and Vivian Crouch; Lee Havel; and sister Margaret Pipta Cavaliere.
Henry was born in Jerome, PA in 1933, the youngest of three children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an altar-server in his church. He graduated from Conemaugh Township HS and joined the military in 1953. He served 4 years in the U.S. Marines during the Korean war at the U.S. Embassy in New Zealand, where he also had fun as a ski instructor. Henry met Elaine at a wedding in 1959 -- his cousin and her best friend. Two years later, they married in New York. He joined Texaco, transferred to Texas, and retired after 25 years. He made many lifelong friends along the way. Henry ("Hank") worked as Animal Control in Walden on Lake Conroe during retirement, where he also enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was loved by his neighbors there.
As a dad, he took his family camping, boating, and skiing; they enjoyed the outdoors together. As a grandpa he gave everything and held back nothing. In his most recent years, he was blessed to become "Great Papa" to Urijah and Vivian and loved watching them play and giving them gifts.
There will be a celebration of Henry's life for the family and friends, on May 21, 2021 at Klein Funeral Home, Magnolia TX.
