Helen "Marie" Quinters

Born July 15, 1939 to parents Albert Henry Wade and Edith Vera (Parker) Wade. Marie was one of 4 children born to Albert and Edith. When she was about 3 or 4 years old, Albert and Edith divorced. Albert eventually remarried Mary McClarren who was called Mimi by her grandchildren. Mary had one daughter, Bobbi, from a previous marriage. Mary raised Marie, and her two brothers, Deck and Mitchell as if they were her own. Later on when her brother Deck was in the Army he met James Quinters and introduced him to Marie and, as they say, the rest is history. Marie and James were married 62 years before his death in 2021. Always faithful to one another, James referred to his beautiful bride as a Proverbs 31 Woman. Together they raised 3 children Craig, Kim and Lisa Quinters. Marie was a housewife and for the most part stayed home to raise her family. It was her great joy to do so. It was important to her for her children to be raised with the knowledge and love for God and with morals and values that her and James always worked hard to instill in them. When her children were young she started taking art lessens from her Aunt Clara. She painted beautiful pieces of art that hang in her house to this day and many she gave away. She was a phenomenal cook and her house was always immaculate. She loved to work in the yard and was always ready for a project no matter how big or small. She spent many days at Craig and Lisa's country place rebuilding houses, fences, landscaping, etc. She loved to travel and could pack up on a moments notice to go anywhere. She was a great Counselor to all as well, and took in some of our friends throughout our growing up years. She couldn't stand the thought of any child being alone. As her children grew up, her and James opened their own meat processing plant in Plum Grove, Texas. When they closed that shop they opened their deer processing company near Hooks Airport where they specialized in smoked meats. They were very well known and loved throughout the region for their smoked meats and their "Mom and Pop" style of running their business. Their integrity in running that business, which was known by all, was very important to them. The legacy Marie leaves behind will be carried on by all who knew her. We love you Momma!
