Helen Ann Nardecchia was  born on December 14, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Augustine and Jasper Zimardo. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Dunn, brother Frank Zimardo and sister Marie Kedzie.

Helen was married to Sabatino (Buddy) Nardecchia for almost 60 years.  Helen's husband Buddy passed away on August 26, 2015. Together they raised three children, Karen Marie Barry (Timothy), Kathryn Lynn Hughes (Rob) and David Joseph Nardecchia (Margaret).  They had 6 grandchildren~ Lisa, Kate, Sam, Emily, Ryne and Grace and 4 great-grandchildren~ Easton, Caroline, Warren and Rayleigh.

Helen was an accomplished writer and author, publishing 5 books and countless short stories. She was part of many writers' workshops and taught other seniors how to write and record their life stories in the form of memoirs. Helen was a social butterfly at the Village of Gleannloch where she lived until her death and was a life-long Cubs fan spending many hours watching Cubs games with her son, Dave.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Books Between Kids, PO Box 25072, Houston, TX, 77265, a non-profit organization in the Houston area that provides books to at-risk children who do not have the financial means to buy books.  Or please give to a charity organization of your choice in memory of Helen.
