Helen McCullar Brown, 82, of Spring and Midland, TX passed away on December 20, 2017. She was born on May 3, 1935 in Denton, TX to James Franklin McCullar and Helen Voss McCullar. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, TX and earned her bachelors degree in Education from the University of Texas.

Helen married Donnie E. Brown on July 4, 1958 and remained happily married for over 59 years. Helen was a teacher for 15 years teaching elementary in Austin, TX, Dickinson, TX, Thornton, CO, and Oklahoma City. In her spare time, she enjoyed mentoring and tutoring her students. After teaching, she transitioned to a medical administration career working for Gilbert Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Dr. Herbert R. Cavenaugh, Midland, TX and Dr. Raj Patel, Midland, TX.

A woman of great character and a loving heart, she spent her lifetime caring for her family and friends. She touched the life of everyone who knew her. The love of books and cooking kept her busy when she was not planning something for her loved ones. Christmas was her favorite time of the year as she would decorate her house endlessly for her family's enjoyment.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents James Franklin McCullar and Helen Voss McCullar and her beloved sister Elizabeth Ann (Libby) McCullar Barrett.

Helen is survived by her loving husband Donnie E. Brown of Midland and Spring TX, and children David E. Brown and wife, Patty of Midland, TX; Dyann E. Bennett and husband, Doug of Spring, TX; and Derek E. Brown of Spring, TX. Loving Grandmother to Danielle Emmite and spouse Craig, Devin Brown, Chelsea Brown, Haley Brown, Jordan Brown, Ray Tatsch, and Martin Pfiffer. Proud Great Grandmother to Eland Emmite, Addison and Brynlee Tatsch and Camden Pfiffer.

Memorial Services will be held at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Klein Funeral Home Memorial Parks, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX 77379.
