Helen Faye (Owens) Heflin was born July 25, 1933 in Hollis, Oklahoma to H.C. "Slim"
and Clara Boyd.  She married Joy Melvin Owens in August, 1951.  Together they
attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where they
studied Pharmaceutical Science.  They welcomed two daughters, Beverly Joy, and
Melissa Kay.  They shared many adventures bow hunting, bass fishing, enjoying the
outdoors, and travel throughout the course of their marriage.  Joy preceded Helen
Faye in death on August 24, 1985.  Helen Faye married James G. Heflin on February 5,
1994.  James and Helen Faye were childhood friends growing up in Harmon County.  She
became a stepmother to his four sons and 10 grandchildren and he gladly assumed the
roll of stepfather and grandfather.  Helen Faye served along side James in The
United States Air Force, and supported his ministry as pastor of College Station
Baptist Church.  Helen Faye was passionate about helping others with health and
nutrition and used her knowledge of herbs in her family business, Champions Health
Food.  She will be remembered by many for her big welcoming smile.  She was involved
as a speaker for Christian Women's Club, and enjoyed a variety of Bible Studies.
Helen Faye loved God, and never failed to show God's love to everyone that crossed
her path.  Helen Faye lived her life willing to give, willing to serve, and willing
to love.  She led her family in Christian faith, which is her lasting legacy.  "Her
children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

Helen Faye was preceded in death by her parents, H.C. "Slim" Boyd, and Clara Whorton
Boyd, her husband, Joy Melvin Owens. She is survived by her husband, children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
