Hector Zayas Puig 82, passed away on April 28th 2025 unexpectedly of natural causes.

Hector was born on October 18th, 1942 to Vicente and Esperanza Zayas in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

After graduating with a degree in law, he started his first job as a private lawyer before serving 4 years as a state prosecutor, kickstarting a 46-year career in criminal law.

In 1972, Hector met Agnes V. Lugo in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Hector and Agnes were married for 53 years and went on to raise 3 children, Idalie, Hector and Agnes.

In 2015, Hector retired and spent his time with family. He loved to dance, play dominoes, and parcheesi. He was the life of the party everywhere he went. He will be remembered by his generosity, his love for family, and his larger than life laughter.

Hector was predeceased by his daughter Idalie. He is survived by his wife Agnes V. Lugo, children and their spouses: Hector Zayas Lugo (Brittney) and Agnes Rios (Arturo), grandchildren: Idalie Sierra Zayas, Richard Sierra Zayas, Hector Rios, Juliana Zayas (Jamie), Natalia Rios and Marcos Rios, and step-grandchildren Josiah Philips and Julien Phillips.
