Harry Schirmer Howard, 82, passed away early Sunday morning, December 21, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Harry was born on October 19, 1938 in Columbia, South Carolina to Harry Howard Jr. and Gertrude Katherine Schirmer.

Harry was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having joined the church in 1967 while serving in the U.S. Air Force at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. He served faithfully in many capacities and will be missed by all to whom he rendered service.

Upon graduating from high school in 1956, in St Petersburg, Florida, Harry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After 20 years of service to his country he retired with the rank of TSGT (E-6) in 1976. His post-military career included numerous positions as a procedure/technical writer.

On May 10, 1958 he married Patricia Ann Maring in St. Petersburg, Florida, who preceded him in death in 2014. His daughter, Michele Rene Guynn, also preceded him in 2011.

While we feel sad at Harry's passing, we have assurance that he has been joyfully reunited with Pat, Michele and his parents.

Harry is survived by two sisters and a brother, Elaine Sabino of Miami, Florida, Linda Berdeaux (Douglas) of Daytona Beach, Florida, and John Howard of Daytona Beach, Florida; three sons, David Howard (Chris) of Tempe, Arizona, John Howard (Renee) of Walton, Kentucky and Eric Howard (Wanda) of Tomball, Texas. Also surviving is a posterity of 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held December 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 12310 New Hampton Dr, Tomball, Texas 77377. Funeral services will commence at 12:15 PM at the same location, followed by an interment ceremony with military honors at 2:00 PM at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
