Harold C. Kreutzer, 86, of Houston, passed away suddenly on August 4, 2021. He was born May 31, 1935, in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada to the late John Kreutzer and Anne [Janz] Kreutzer.
He was the oldest of three children. He lived and started his career as a car salesman in Steinbach and then continued on in Winnipeg. In the mid 70's Harold moved to Calgary with his family and entered into the oil field business working for Trans World Safety Company. His work in the oil field brought him to Texas in the early 80's, where he became a U.S. citizen and met Betty Carmichael, his wife for more than 30 years. They were dedicated members of Resurrection Lutheran Church.
Harold was one of the proud founders and owners of Wireline Technologies Inc. for 20 years, growing the business from a two man shop with his stepson Alan, to an operation of over 60 people. He was loved and admired by employees and customers alike for his friendly, cheerful personality and unfailing ability to take care of business. He never met a stranger and made a point to brighten everyone's day. Harold was self-made and self-reliant, from his education to his career. He engaged with the world in a friendly and fun way.
He spent the past several years embracing life fully "hunkered down" at the Solana Preserve Senior Living apartments with his companion, Dixie Matthews, and all of their friends. While Harold will be loved and missed by those he left behind, his wife and two of his stepsons are with him in Heaven.
Harold is survived by his brother Gordon Kreutzer and wife Vi, his sister Lorraine MacLean and husband Gairie, his son Tom Kreutzer and wife Glenda, his daughter Leslie Waddington and husband Josh, and his stepson KP Carmichael and wife Linda. Harold had 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren that will miss his gentle and kind manner.
Harold loved to travel so, as he journeys on, we wish him a trip of a lifetime!
