Gwenith Fikes Sammons went to be with her Lord and savior on May 14, 2024. She was born in Rosebud TX on January 30, 1954 to Royce and Dorothy Fikes. She attended various schools before eventually graduating from John H. Reagan Senior High School in Houston TX. She was loved by all throughout her life. She began her professional career as a legal secretary for Pennzoil Corporation and subsequent various law firms until her retirement. She loved those closest to her with all of her heart and her Lord and Savior with all of her soul. She was a devout Christian throughout her life and attended Cy-Fair Church of Christ. Her faith led her to many lasting friendships including Miss Patty, whom she adored. She loved to travel, curl up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book, and chasing around her fur babies, Cookie and Chopper. She had a life long bond with her best friend and partner in crime, Marlies Rasberry. Gwen was a special individual and would absolutely light up the room with her presence and her warm smile. She was a friend to all and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sister, Lanelle Witt, of Big Spring, TX; sister-in-law, Sondra Fikes, of Spring, TX; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Royce and Dorothy Fikes of Hunstville, TX; brother, Ron Fikes of Spring, TX, brother-in-law, Hilton Witt of Big Spring, TX; and nephew, David Witt of Palmer TX.
