Gregory Ralph Watts, 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away May 7th, 2025.  Gregory was born July 26th, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Charles L. Watts and Betty J. (Hartzer) Watts.

From recollection, the nickname 'Scooter' was given to him by friends that played ice hockey with him, because he 'Scooted' on the ice with ease.

He was a proud member of The OG's, a childhood neighborhood club that went on into adulthood.

In the CB Radio craze time, his handle was 'The Fighting Saint'.

He worked at Hamilton's Funeral Home (Des Moines IA) in transportation and preparatory.

He was a dry-cleaning delivery driver.

He was mostly in sales starting from men's formal Wear, high-end men's clothing, shoes, leather goods, and tile.

He installed furnaces and air conditioners in houses.

He worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Leasing in both sections, rental, buying and delivery of vehicles. So, he got to know the Houston streets very well and other parts of Texas.

He loved cars, golf, hockey, football, NASCAR racing, old movies, mysteries, TRIVIA, visiting family, listening to music, his dog 'Prince' from childhood, kitty cats and his Coffee!  He also loved to travel...car, plane or cruise ship.

He attended Grandview Junior College in Des Moines IA. He also attended Creighton University in Omaha NE. After a few years of working, he finally went back to college and graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA (1981).

He married his wife Datha in 1976. Then in 1982, toward the end of the big hiring boom in Texas, he and his wife decided to move to Houston and have lived there ever since.

Gregory is survived by his loving wife, Datha (Buster) Watts (almost 49 years of marriage), and their kitties, as well as several cousins and his sister in law.

Including his parents Gregory was preceded in death by his grandparents and his in-laws.
