On January 1, 2023, our dear wife, mother, and grandmother, Grace Evans, passed away
peacefully in her home with her beloved husband at her side. She was devoted to her family
and faith, remaining steadfast in her hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Born on August 9, 1938 in Marion, Louisiana to Charlie and Mittie Brantley, Grace was the
youngest of her siblings. She spent much of her childhood in Shreveport, Louisiana, later
graduating from C.E. Byrd High School. It is there in Shreveport that she was introduced to her
husband of nearly fifty-three years, Ken Evans. They had a loving marriage, especially as Ken
so gently and faithfully cared for her these past few years. The two lived the Air Force life,
moving around the country numerous times. Grace always enjoyed the friendship and
camaraderie she found on base with the other military wives. They ultimately settled in Texas
and lived near their children and grandchildren.

Grace was a thoughtful mother. From breakfasts of hot chocolate and toast "to warm your
innards" to holiday traditions, she was always able to make the little things feel special for her
children. Her generous nature was felt also by her grandchildren who she would fill with treats
such as Hostess cupcakes and most importantly, her famous chocolate cake. She passes down
not only a great recipe, but a lifetime of blessed memories which her family will always
remember her by.

Throughout her years, Grace enjoyed listening to gospel music, writing poetry, playing the
piano, and treasured nightly Bible reading and prayer with Ken. She loved children, a good
novel, caring for others, her collection of cookbooks, and coffee when it's made just right. She
was a stickler about her appearance (and yours too) and you could not put anything past her
even if you tried. She was kind, full of lively conversation, and will be so greatly missed.

Grace is preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, three sisters, and son
Danny Broadway. She is survived by her husband Ken and their children Travis Evans (Kris)
and Stacy Stevens (Shane); her sister Deannie Jensen; her daughter Sharon Smith; and sons
Darren Broadway, Rickey Broadway, Tony Broadway, and Scott Broadway; as well as her
nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Klein Funeral Home Cy-Fair -
Northwest. Visitation is from 9:00 to 10:30 AM followed by the service at 10:30. The graveside
service will take place at the Houston National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
