We are heartbroken to announce the death of our Father, Gottfried Joseph Balfantz, Jr. He was born in Maurepas, Louisiana on July 21, 1927, and passed away peacefully at his home in Spring, Texas on August 25, 2022, surrounded by family, at the age of 95.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Gottfried J. Balfantz, Sr. from Maurepas Louisiana, Mother, Pauline Balfantz Johnson from Head of Island, Louisiana, and sister Laura Brenn.

Gottfried is survived by his loving wife, Mary Balfantz; his sons Gottfried Balfantz, III and wife Christine, Richard Balfantz and wife Teresa, and daughters, Pamela Albert, and Lori Keyser and her husband Ron, and his stepson, Randall Garland.  He is also survived by his sister, Caroline Bartolotta, 17 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren.

Gottfried lived a blessed, zestful life where he was the heart of a large loving family.  He always had a happy spirit and a bright sparkle in his eyes that would light up a room as soon as he walked in.  Even at the very end, he loved to make his family laugh with his funny viewpoint of his experiences and adventures accumulated throughout his very long life.

We would love for you to come honor his life at the Klein Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, located at 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, TX 77375, at 2pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022.  A committal service with military honors will immediately follow.
