Rev. Gordon Lee Waterman of Tomball, TX met his Lord on May 5, 2024. He was born on October 11, 1937, in Berlin, WI where he grew up on a dairy farm, playing the piano and trombone at Berlin H.S., finishing high school at Concordia H.S., Milwaukee, WI. Gordon earned a bachelor's degree from Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne, IN, followed by a master's degree in classical languages from the University of Chicago. He pursued the ministry, obtaining a Master of Divinity Degree at Concordia Seminary, St, Louis, MO. His vicarage was at Concordia Lutheran Church, Maplewood, MO.

While in St. Louis, he obtained a Master of Music Degree in organ performance from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. In 1966, he taught Latin, German, and Music as a professor at St. Paul's College, Concordia, MO. He became an associate professor of Latin, Greek, and Music at St. John's College, Winfield KS.

Pastor Waterman was ordained at St. John's, Winfield. He served the following congregations: Concordia Lutheran, Hoisington, KS; Good Shepherd Lutheran, Panama City, FL; St. John's Lutheran, Lake Charles, LA.; Zion Lutheran, Tomball, TX; Abiding Faith Lutheran, Pinehurst, TX; Crown of Life Lutheran, Tomball, TX. His ministry to the church encompassed 59 years.

Gordon married Arlene Neben, his wife of 61 years in 1962. Gordon is survived by his wife Arlene, daughter Stephanie, brother Robert, two grandsons Brandon and Matthew, and two great grand-children Lila and Wyatt plus many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Smith Waterman and Ella Amanda Strey, brother Donald, and daughters Kathryn, and Linda Walker-Bartolin.

Gordon was a beloved pastor, teacher, musician, and accomplished organist. SOLI DEO GLORIA
