Gordon Edward Kaercher passed into eternal life on January 11, 2026, at his home in The Woodlands, Texas. With complete surrender to God's will, his family mourns the loss of a beloved husband, father, son and brother.
Gordon was born on May 20, 1991, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Todd and Becky Kaercher. He spent many happy years with his siblings Jessie, Leah, Jillian and Grant and cherished the memories of time spent with his family both at home and on trips. Gordon deeply appreciated the loving childhood given to him by his parents and sought to emulate that one day with his own family.
From a young age, he showed an interest in building and creating. Following in the footsteps of Saint Joseph, he became a talented woodworker. The fruits of this talent can be seen in everything from chairs and bookshelves to a treehouse and a beautiful bed built for his daughter, Elise. Gordon's hobby of flying remote-controlled airplanes also began at a young age and continued until his death. He enjoyed many evening sunsets at fields with his sons Liam and Carson teaching them the ins and outs of flying.
Gordon first met his wife Marissa in fourth grade, and they married in 2014 following his graduation from Penn State. His petroleum engineering degree led them to Houston where he was employed by Chevron for 11 years and had the opportunity to work with many dear friends and colleagues. In Houston, Gordon and Marissa welcomed their 3 children: Liam, Carson and Elise. As a family they enjoyed going on "adventures" which involved packing lunch and setting off to discover small Texas towns and new barbecue places. Both as individuals and a family, Gordon and Marissa have been blessed with faithful friendships which have provided endless love and support. Gordon and Marissa strove to instill a love for their Catholic faith in their children, and Gordon guided and protected his family in this and in all aspects of their life together.
Gordon is survived by his wife Marissa (Miller) Kaercher, his children Liam, Carson and Elise, his loving parents Todd and Becky (Kimmich) Kaercher and his siblings Jessie, Leah, Jillian and Grant, along with their spouses. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, father and mother-in-law Chris and Althea Miller, as well as many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a vigil prayer service to begin at 6:30 PM, Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354.
